Is Apple Preparing for Increased Collaboration?

As two of Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) higher-ups, Scott Forstall and Josh Browett, depart from the company, the question remains: why were they made to go? CEO Tim Cook says it all has to do with collaboration.

Cook believes a key to innovation is collaboration, and he says late CEO and founderSteve Jobs would have agreed. Cook praised a number of his leads as being world-bests in their fields, which may be hyperbole but certainly shows confidence in the company’s potential to continue innovating the whole technology market.

In the shift, lead designer Jony Ive will be moving from hardware design to take charge of  human interface design, which could lead to a more unified and seamless design between the devices and actual onscreen elements. With Bob Mansfield, senior VP of Technologies, and Craig Federighi, senior VP of Software Engineering, Cook says Apple is ready to “take collaboration to a whole different level.”
