Intel’s McAfee Announces Multi-Year CONTRACT and 3 Dow Movers Turning Heads

Hewlett-Packard Company’s (NYSE:HPQ) TouchPad tablets and Acer’s Iconia could see direct competition from Microsoft’s plans for the Surface tablet. In response Acer Chairman and Chief Executive J.T. Wang says the development would be “negative for the worldwide ecosystem” in computing, according to the Financial Times. In addition, Wang says “We have said think it over. It is not something you are good at so please think twice.”

Intel Corporation’s (NASDAQ:INTC) wholly-owned subsidiary McAfee, reported that it has obtained a multi-year Enterprise Level Agreement contract from the Department of Homeland Security with a potential value of up to $12 million. Through the terms, McAfee intends to supply Homeland with a broad variety of enterprise wide network and system security support, products, and services. The arrangement, which follows a blanket purchase agreement contract McAfee was awarded last year by the Department, marks a significant departure in the way federal agencies typically find sources for security services.

Merck & Co. Inc. (NYSE:MRK): Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited (NYSE:RDY) introduced Montelukast Sodium Tablets and Montelukast Sodium Chewable Tablets, which are bioequivalent generic versions of Singulair Tablets and Chewable tablets, in the domestic market on Monday, subsequent to the okay by the FDA of Dr. Reddy’s Anda. The Singulair tablets and Chewable tablets brand had domestic sales of around $3.6 billion and $1.14 billion respectively for the most recent twelve months ending in past March, according to IMS Health.
