Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) and the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs have recently made an agreement that will permit any organization of the United Nations to access the firm’s networking tech solutions for emergency communications assistance during UN disaster relief missions. This arrangement is the first of its kind for Cisco with the United Nations. While operating under a joint Memorandum of Understanding, the two entities will be better able to work together in terms of crisis preparedness, disaster response and technical coordination.

Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ) has calculated that it will eliminate about 29,000 jobs in connection with the multi-year restructuring plan through its fiscal year 2014, with some of those employees leaving the company as part of a voluntary enhanced early retirement program for United States employees.
Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) is searching for new applications for its Atom series processors, according to server industry sources to DigiTimes, which report that the company has recently set its sights on the low-power-consumption server market.
