New York Times Co. (NYSE:NYT): Closing price $9.54
Knowledgeable sources say that New York Times Co. has received a formal offer in January that implies a value of the Boston Globe in excess of $100 million from former Boston Globe President Rick Daniels and the private-equity firm Boston Post Partners, though around one-third of the value would come from the buyers assuming a portion of the paper’s pension liabilities.
