If Microsoft Can’t Carry Windows 8, Who Can?

In the next two months, Windows tablets and hybrid devices are expected from Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE:HPQ), Acer Inc., and Asustek Computer Inc. Some devices are already available from these manufacturers, and could start to make up for the Surface’s shortcomings.

Unfortunately for Microsoft, sales from the aforementioned computer manufacturers won’t do as much to boost Microsoft’s revenue as a successful Surface would have. However, the licensing and increased availability of Windows software could be enough to help Microsoft recover from the transitional pains it felt with the poor-performing introduction of Windows 8 for tablet devices.
