The General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) has intiated an 18-month project with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to help bring NextGen air traffic management tech into “The Cloud.” Cloud computing should permit airlines and air traffic controllers to conduct their tasks by sharing data analysis and decision support tools to enhance aircraft operations and airspace efficiency. This endeavor to bring cloud computing to air traffic management is a part of the company’s efforts to build the Industrial Internet.

Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ): It is anticipated that Non-Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) tablet makers will reduce their prices to between $150 and $200, from the current range of $199 to $400 prior to the 7.85-inch iPad, according to industry sources to DigiTimes. Further, Apple’s new iPad should have a big impact on the tablet market, and makers will need to decrease their prices to remain competitive.

International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) has reached a multi-year agreement with Ameriprise Financial, Inc. (NYSE:AMP) through which IBM will continue to support the latter’s technology infrastructure with a clear concentration on maintaining strong reliability, along with incorporating innovative new technologies.
