U.S. stocks rose Thursday despite a computer glitch that caused the Nasdaq to stop trading for three hours this afternoon. Trading on the Nasdaq index stopped between 12:20 p.m. and 3:25 p.m. EST in New York. Meanwhile, positive data on manufacturing and the labor market gave more signs that the economy is improving.
