Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ): Notebook original design manufacturers predict that they will see increasing shipments in August, with volumes growing even higher in September, says DigiTimes. Pointing to market watchers for their optimism, the group is driving its shipment volumes to hopefully reach double-digit percentage rate growths in the third quarter.

Intel Corporation’s (NASDAQ:INTC) wholly owned subsidiary, Wind River, supplied the tech that powered the Mars Science Laboratory rover Curiosity, which successfully landed on the planet early Monday. The rover represents the most complex robotic interplanetary probe ever designed, and is running on Wind River’s industry-leading real-time operating system, VxWorks.
Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) is among a group of three consumer products stocks which Warren Buffet cut back, to reduce Berkshire Hathaway’s (BRK.A) second quarter position, so as to raise cash. The other two stocks were Kraft Foods Inc. (NYSE:KFT) and Procter & Gamble (NYSE:PG), according to Bloomberg.
JPMorgan Chase & Co. (NYSE:JPM): Financial institutions have been pointing fingers like school children when interviewed by authorities regarding the Libor scandal, say anonymous banking and government officials to The New York Times. In several cases, the companies admit their own guilt but cite others among their peers whose behaviors are said to be worse.
