Here’s Apple’s Pole Position in the Cloud

cloudsApple (NASDAQ:AAPL) is dominating the online media landscape according to a newly-published study from Strategy Analytics, via engadget. According to Strategy Analytics’ research that was done last year, Apple’s iCloud and iTunes Match cloud storage services combined accounted for 27 percent of the total cloud storage usage in the US.

Following in second place is Dropbox, with 17 percent of the cloud storage market share. Interestingly, Dropbox is a purely cloud storage-focused service that doesn’t sell MP3 devices or any other music-related products. However, the Strategic Analytics report notes that 45 percent of the content on Dropbox is audio content, which are most likely music files.

In third place is Amazon’s (NASDAQ:AMZN) Cloud Drive, which accounts for 15 percent of cloud storage usage in the US. Nipping on Amazon’s virtual heels is Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) Drive, which holds 10 percent of the US cloud storage market share…
