Here’s Another Hurdle For Boeing’s Top Institutional Shareholders

Just when Boeing (NYSE:BA) was cutting the last strands of red tape following its 787 Dreamliner debacle, the Federal Aviation Administration has ordered the examination of some 1,000 Boeing aircraft, due to issues stemming from a faulty component that could cause pilots to lose control of the aircraft if it failed. ”We are issuing this AD (airworthiness directive) to prevent premature failure of the attach pins, which could cause reduced structural integrity of the horizontal stabilizer to fuselage attachment, resulting in loss of control of the airplane,” the FAA said in the directive issued on Monday. the problem could cost Boeing up to $10.1 million to fix, and affects the 737 models of aircraft.
