Needless to say, trick-or-treating will take a humongous hit in Sandy’s destructive path, causing the previously estimated boom of $2.4 billion in sales to plummet. According to analysts, candy makers have already shipped their products, but it might be the drugstore chains like CVS Caremark Corporation (NYSE:CVS), Walgreen Co. (NYSE:WAG), and Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE:RAD) who wind up with full shelves after Wednesday.

McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:MCD) is stepping into the bagged coffee market, with a massive advertising campaign in Canada alongside its November 5th launch there. Meanwhile, in its stores, a free small coffee promotion going at full tilt to help build the McDonald’s coffee brand and to maintain pressure on Tim Hortons and Starbucks.
