A Japanese court has refused Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) plea for an injunction on 8 Samsung Android phones, saying the devices do not violate the latter’s patent that syncs music and and video content with servers. The ruling helps Samsung shares to rally on the Seoul exchange and make up most of the losses after Apple’s historic legal win in California.

Images claimed to be of Nokia’s (NYSE:NOK) upcoming Windows Phone 8 models, due to launch on Sept 5, are uploaded by a Twitter account known to be a reliable source of leaked tech information. The Lumia 820 is stated to have a 4.3″ display while Lumia 920 apparently features a 4.5″ display along with Nokia’s PureView imaging technology.
Wal-Mart’s (NYSE:WMT) thrust into healthcare may reap a bonanza in the U.S., but more importantly, also in emerging markets, with the chain’s stores becoming universal shopping destinations that could prove superior to local market structures. Projections by McKinsey & Co say that emerging markets would account for half of global consumer spending by 2025, and that healthcare would be a significant chunk of the total.
A wide recall of competing Mr. Coffee machines have had a beneficial impact on shares of Green Mountain Coffee (NASDAQ:GMCR) which were trading higher before the bell. Analysts are, however, divided on the ultimate effect the recall would have on the sales of Keurig machines.
Intel (NYSE:INTC): Intel has chosen Integrated Device Technology to develop an integrated transmitter and receiver chipset for its wireless charging technology. The receiver chipset is based on resonance technology. IDT is targeting samples of a resonance receiver integrated chipset by the end of the year, and the transmitter is expected to sample in the first half of 2013.
