Google Inc.’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Nexus tablet, which should be announced at Google I/O later this week, will use a Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) Tegra 3 processor (previous) and 7″ display. The 8GB version, named the Nexus 7 (possibly suggesting a future Nexus 9 or 10 with larger display), will cost $199, and the 16GB version will be sold at $249. The tablet still sees vicious competition with the iPad, the Kindle Fire, and possibly soon the Microsoft Surface.

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has had at lease 50 developers poached from its Shanghai office by  Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:EA), with the intentions of creating an in-app purchase platform which should triumph over “freemium” games. This limited position of EA concerning freemium mobile gaming market relative to Zynga and others has caused some concern. The new hirings occurred less than a year following EA’s tabbing of Microsoft executive Rajat Taneja as its CTO.
