Google THREATENS Acer and 3 Morning Hot Stocks to See Now

Sharp, one of the three suppliers of displays for the iPhone 5, has now started it’s long-delayed shipments of LCD screens according to a report in the Wall Street Journal, assuaging apprehensions that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) would not be able to satisfy demand for the new smartphone.

Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) reportedly threatened the withdrawal of Android support to Acer (ASIYF.PK) if it used Alibaba’s Aliyun OS in its new smartphone scheduled to be launched at a press conference. The development led Acer to cancel the conference.

The closure of of a 4000 employee plant in Genk in Belgium may be a part of a restructuring of European operations that Ford (NYSE:F) is implementing to restore profitability in the region. GM is making similar moves and may shutter its Bochum plant in Germany.

Liberty Media (NASDAQ:LMCA) is close to a threshold of dominant control of satellite service Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ:SIRI) but Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei is apparently in no hurry to consider spinning off the latter.
