GM WARNS Workers of Personal Info Compromise and 4 Auto Stocks Making Headlines Now

Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F):  According to the Detroit News, Ford Motor Co.’s (NYSE:F) Van Dyke Transmission plant has added 225 jobs, and now employs about 1,350 workers. The plant produces transmissions for the Ford C-MAX Hybrid, C-MAX Energi plug-in hybrid, Fusion Hybrid, Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid and Lincoln MKZ Hybrid.

General Motors Company (NYSE:GM):  According to the Detroit News, after a General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) employee copied personal information, before retiring, they had to notify over 800 active and retired workers that their personal information might have been compromised. In a statement, the company said that they completed an investigation and no cases of fraud have been reported.

Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM):  The Associated Press reported that Toyota Motor Corporation(NYSE:TM) has boosted their global sales plan, for the year, from 9.58 million to 9.76 million vehicles.

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (NYSE:HMC):  Honda Motor Co., Ltd.’s U.S. sales recovery has accelerated in July with the market’s biggest volume gain. This has helped the automakers stay on track for their best year since 2007.  Honda, Japan’s third-largest car maker, posted an increase of 45%, which beat the 41% average of eight analysts’estimates that were compiled by Bloomberg. Sales advanced 26% at Toyota and 16% at Nissan, who, like Honda, saw deliveries decline, after natural disasters, a year ago, caused a shortage in part supplies.

Tesla Motors, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA):  Toyota Motor Corporation, the largest maker of  hybrid autos, said its RAV4 EV sport-utility vehicle, powered by batteries and a motor from Tesla Motors Inc.(NASDAQ:TSLA), will go farther on a charge than electric models from their major competitors. The small SUV runs up to 113 miles (182 kilometers) per full charge, and will arrive at California dealers in about a month, according to a statement made, at a briefing this week, in Newport Beach, California, by Toyota. The $49,800 model is the market’s only all electric crossover and will qualify for $10,000 in combined federal and state incentives.
