Globe Specialty Metals, Inc. (NASDAQ:GSM): On Friday, Globe Specialty Metals announced that its Bridgeport, Alabama ferrosilicon plant has resumed operations after the completion of repairs from the November fire. As a result of this event, EBITDA for the Q2 ended December 31 is expected to decline by approximately $5.0M. The shares closed at $13.83, down $1.68, or 10.83%. They have traded in a 52-week range of $12.25 to $25.67.

YPF SA (NYSE:YPF): Shares of YPF SA (NYSE:YPF) trading in New York tumbled after Spanish language newspaper Pagina/12 reported that Argentine officials discussed re-nationalizing the company that was bought by Repsol YPF (REPYY) in 1999, reported Bloomberg. The source of the report was not identified, Bloomberg noted.  The shares closed at $35.86, down $4.02, or 10.08%. They have traded in a 52-week range of $31.00 to $53.47.

Aluminum Corp. of China Limited (NYSE:ACH): Aluminum Corp. of China (NYSE:ACH) provided preliminary results for calendar year 2011, stating that it expects its net profits to decrease by more than 50% compared with 2010, due to a Q4 operating loss. The company said that Europe’s debt crisis and the global economic environment led the price of aluminum to drop sharply in Q4, while rising electricity prices increased the company’s production costs. The company stated that in calendar year 2010 the net profits attributable to its equity holders were RMB778M, or EPS RMB0.06. In mid-morning trading, shares slid $1.30, or 9.75%, to $12.03. The shares closed at $12.10, down $1.23, or 9.23%. They have traded in a 52-week range of $10.39 to $25.88.

Discovery Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:DISCA): Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network is looking to former Discovery Fit and Health (NASDAQ:DISCA) executive Rita Mullin to take over as VP, production and development to help improve the network’s ratings, according to the New York Post. The shares closed at $46.02, down $3.88, or 7.78%. They have traded in a 52-week range of $32.05 to $52.00.
