Global Partners With Getty Realty, Exxon Denies Nigeria Spill: Energy Biz Update

On Monday, Global Partners (NYSE:GLP) reached a long-term lease agreement with Getty Realty Corp. (NYSE:GTY), which allows the partnership to provide gasoline to, and operate through a dealer network which comprises around 90 of Getty’s gas station sites in the boroughs of Manhattan,  Queens, and the Bronx. along with Long Island and Westchester County.

Atlas Resource Partners (NYSE:ARP) has made an agreement with an affiliate of DTE Energy Company (NYSE:DTE), through which Atlas will purchase DTE Gas Resources, LLC, which owns of proved reserves that hold around 35 million barrels of energy equivalent and substantial resource potential, for approximately $255 million. The reserves are located in Fort Worth Basin of Texas. The transaction should close in December, and will have an effective date of October 1, 2012.

The Nigerian division of Exxon Mobil Corportion (NYSE:XOM) says that a spill from one of its pipelines is combining with a second spill that is not its responsibility. A pipeline in the Akwa Ibom state starting leaking 200 barrels of oil into the environment on the 9th of November, according to the company’s early estimation, but Monday spokesperson Nigel Cookey-Gam stated that, “We’re getting indications of a spill in the area that is not ours,” adding that he didn’t know the source, magnitude, or cause of the other spill.
