The Boeing Company’s (NYSE:BA) engineers are represented by the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace which has said that it’s trying to prevent some of its members calling a one-day, unauthorized strike next week to protest the slow progress of labor negotiations, according to Reuters.

Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX): Exporting the domestic shale energy revolution overseas shows the United States with a significant competitive advantage. Large shale deposits do exist outside of North America, but oil companies there are experiencing obstacles as they attempt to replicate the United States’ experience on other continents, resulting in significant overseas shale energy output perhaps being a decade away, says the Wall Street Journal.

General Electric Company’s (NYSE:GE) GE Energy Financial Services, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of MetLife (NYSE:MET) and Union Bank as a group, has invested almost $247 million in Wind Capital Group’s recently commissioned 201-megawatt Post Rock wind farm. Wind Capital Group, supported by its parent firm NTR, holds a substantial equity stake and serves as managing member of the project, located 80 miles outside Wichita, Kansas in Ellsworth and Lincoln Counties. Additional details of the agreement were not reported.
