GE Healthcare Reports Results and 2 Dow Stocks in Tuesday’s Spotlight

The Boeing Company’s (NYSE:BA) 747-8 is not considered a “huge competitor” by Airbus (EADSY.PK) Chief Executive Fabrice Bregier to his company’s A380 superjumbo, though he predicts that the sales target for the aircraft will be “tough” to reach, since prospective buyers have been repelled by wing cracks, according to Reuters. Also, he forecasts that the A380 will continue to bring interest from airlines and that some existing customers will place additional orders, as well.

Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX): Oil prices are near the highest close in almost three weeks in New York, due to speculation that the United States will increase measures to revive its economy, which could outweigh worries that the bailout plan for Europe might fail. The Federal Reserve starts a two-day meeting on Wednesday, from which it might announce stimulus measures, according to Bloomberg.

General Electric Company’s (NYSE:GE) GE Healthcare reports that pooled results from phase III brain autopsy and biopsy studies on the investigational PET amyloid imaging agent, flutemetamol, showed a strong correlation between flutemetamol images and Alzheimer’s disease-associated beta amyloid brain pathology. Flutemetamol is a PET imaging agent which is being developed by GE Healthcare for the detection of beta amyloid deposits in the brain. The data from the phase III studies further indicate the potential application of flutemetamol as an imaging agent used to detect beta amyloid plaques.
