Gannett SCORES Callaway as Editor-In-Chief and Must-See Media Stocks

Gannett Co. (NYSE:GCI): Tuesday, USA Today named MarketWatch’s (NASDAQ:NWS)(NASDAQ:NWSA) top journalist David Callaway its editor in chief. By the conclusion of the month, Callaway, 48, should rejoin USA Today president and publisher Larry Kramer, who also founded MarketWatch.

Hulu intends to air its first original TV program with the series “Spoilers with Kevin Smith” launching on Canadian network space. This move is yet another step to increase competition with Disney (NYSE:DIS), Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA), and News Corp. (NASDAQ:NWS), after it originally launched as a direct rival to both Netflix and Amazon.
