Ford to Import New Engine and 2 Hot Stocks Sparking Chatter

Monday, December 10 is the deadline for submission of bids of initial interest for Hostess for any of its brands. Ford Motor Co (NYSE:F) intends to import from South Africa a 3.2 L five cylinder turbocharged diesel engine for its new Transit full-size commercial van to be manufactured at Ford’s Kansas City assembly plant. With this new engine, Ford intends to address demand for “a fuel-efficient diesel engine with smooth, responsive performance and low operating costs.”

The deal under which a Chinese group will acquire up to 90% of AIG’s (NYSE:AIG) aircraft leasing business, ILFC, will be placed before the Committee on Foreign Investment for its review and approval. The committee scrutinises foreign transactions for security concerns.
