However, the company notes that sales might be affected, but as of now, it has no reasonable way to predict that particular statistic.

As the number of canceled flights passed 18,000 due to the effects of the hurricane, investors initially worried that the fourth quarter revenues of big East Coast carriers might take the largest hits of the sector. Shares of Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE:LUV), US Airways Group (NYSE:LCC), and JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ:JBLU) dipped in early trading, but seem in late afternoon to be heading for green. Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) shares did the same, but might not quite close higher on the day.
