Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F), Mazda Motor Corp. (MZDAF.PK) and their partner with a 50 percent interest, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., will stake an additional $37.3 million on their engine plant joint venture in China, among which includes its latest Focus model. A large reason that Ford has taken off recently in China (up 48 percent year-over-year in October) is the boycott of Japanese goods there due to the territorial dispute over some sea islands. Other non-Japanese automakers such as General Motors Company (NYSE:GM), Hyundai Motor Co. (HYMLF.PK), and BMW (BMAXY.PK) have benefitted as well.
