General Electric Company (NYSE:GE), or GE, a worldwide partner of the Olympic Games, announced it has surpassed $1 billion in infrastructure sales throughout the past four Olympic Games. Since 2006, GE has worked with host countries, cities, and organizing committees to deliver infrastructure solutions for Olympic Games venues, health centers, and nearby commercial buildings. The technology offered is inteded to support the goals of the organizing committee, which is to build sustainable Olympic Games which make the host city better and deliver state-of-the-art healthcare for Olympic athletes.
Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F) appointed Matt Bradley as its new president of Association of South East Asian Nations, according to the Detroit News. The appointment will be effective tomorrow. Bradley, who iscurrently VP of sales, service and distribution for Ford Asia Pacific and Africa, is to takeover the positions from Peter Fleet, who has recently been named VP of sales for Ford Europe.
Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB): Via a Facebook post, Limited Run announced its intentions to delete its Facebook Page “in the next couple of weeks,” and it gave an explanation. Before the relaunching of its service as Limited Run, allowing labels, musicians, and artists to create their own stores to sell digital and physical products, the company began experimenting with Facebook ads. The result was nothing short of failure. While testing the Facebook advertising system, Limited Run noticed it could only verify approximately 20 percent of the clicks, which were apparently being converted to users showing up on its Web site. Following trials of a few analytics services to figure out the rest of the traffic, the company built its own software out of exasperation.
Sirius XM Radio Inc (NASDAQ:SIRI) is to launch Politics Powered by Twitter – a live, a daily, one-hour long show discussing politics as seen on Twitter, today. The program is to air on SiriusXM P.O.T.U.S., a non-partisan channel dedicated to the “Politics of the United States.”
