These companies saw analyst catalysts amidst the trading action today:
Intuitive Surgical, Inc. (NASDAQ:ISRG): Collins Stewart says Intuitive Surgical’s newly Food and Drug Administration approved vessel sealer will increase revenue. The FDA approval for its vessel sealer provides and additional revenue for each procedure and furthers da Vinci experience for the surgeon. The firm stays with a Buy rating and $475 price target.
Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:ARIA): BMO raises target price for ARIA from $18 to $23. A public offering filled a prescription of $243 million for Ariad, positioning the company for a global launch of ponatinib, a Chronic myelogenous (or myeloid) leukemia treatment in late 2012 or early 2013. Consulting with an expert physician, BMO Capital thinks many have underestimated unmet needs in CML. The firm maintains its Outperform rating.
Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ:INFA): Stifel Nicolaus says Informatica seems to be facing difficulties when trying to win big deals. The company appears to be facing some of the same difficulties securing major deals reported by Oracle (NASDAQ:ORCL). The firm leaves Q4 estimates unchanged but lowered its target to $54 while staying with a Buy rating.
Zipcar Inc (NASDAQ:ZIP): Needham says fourth quarter revenue for Zipcar should beat consensus expectations due to better than expected utilization. Recent share weakness has been attributed selloff by pre-IPO holders at lock-up expiration. Needham sees an entry point and at current levels and reiterates a Buy rating.
Power Integrations Inc. (NASDAQ:POWI): Needham say aPower Integrations design has been incorporated into Samsung’s replacement bulb. Based on its teardown analysis of residential LED light bulbs, a critical design from Power Integrations was recently debuted in Samsung’s A19 incandescent replacement bulb. Power Integrations has $100 million revenue target for LED lighting in 2015 and Needham shows its confidence in that target by reiterating a Buy rating.
Acuity Brands, Inc.(NYSE:AYI): RW Baird raises Acuity Brands target from $48 to $59. Baird’s channel checking indicate first quarter volume growth should be stronger than expected. The firm also cited long term growth prospects, free cash glow generation, and higher peak to peak return profile. The firm has AYI with Outperform rating.
Westar Energy, Inc. (NYSE:WR): Argus sees current shares ofWestar Energy shares attractive. Argus expects second quarter kilowatt-hour sales growth for Westar. With solid assets and efficiencies in operations, Argus thinks shares could brighten up and maintains a Buy rating.
