Facebook SUSPECTED in Zynga Fail and 4 Social Media Stocks Seeing Action

Facebook, Inc. (NASDAQ:FB): Via a proposed amendment to a Senate bill, Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) users could be allowed to automatically notify their Facebook friends of what Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) videos they have watched, according to a report The Hill released Friday. The amendment could be voted on as soon as this week, the publication explained. The shares traded down $0.58 (2.43%) recently at $23.13.

LinkedIn Corporation (NYSE:LNKD) reports its Q2 earnings on Thursday, August 2, 2012. Analysts anticipate earnings of 5 cents per share, which is exactly the same as last year. The consensus estimate dropped from when it was 6 cents three months ago, but remained unchanged through the past month. Analysts predict earnings of 15 cents per share for the fiscal year, and revenue is expected to total 78.5 percent higher than the previous year’s total of $121 million at $216.1 million. The shares traded up $0.63 (0.61%) recently at $104.05.

Pandora Media, Inc. (NYSE:P): Groupon, a daily deals site which was touted as the firm which could reinvent local commerce, fell from its $20 IPO price to only $7.15 per share in almost nine months. Music service Pandora Media has fallen from $16 at its June 2011 IPO to about $10 Friday. The shares traded down $0.43 (4.29%) recently at $9.60.

Zynga, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZNGA): Rumors are rampant stating that Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) stopped featuring Zynga’s (NASDAQ:ZNGA) games as a way to make Zynga’s stock price drop to simplify its takeover, according to the NBC Bay Area blog. Reuters reports, Zynga has seen a 70 percent decrease in share price already this year. The shares traded down $0.09 (2.76%) recently at $3.00.

Yelp, Inc. (NYSE:YELP), a social review site, recently released its newest version of the iOS app, which the company claims is “literally filled to the brim with awesomeness. We’re not joking — we had to get an intern to stand on the top of it just to get it zipped up and shipped to the App Store,” Yelp wrote in the update details. The shares traded up $1.16 (5.95) recently at $20.67.
