TransCanada Corporation (NYSE:TRP) has proposed a new route for the Keystone pipeline project which will not cross into sensitive ecological areas in Nebraska. The company says it has been working with officials in that state to produce a new route and expects to have the State Department’s approval for the northern section early in 2013.

Berkshire Hathaway Inc.’s (BRK.A)(BRK.B) BNSF Railway, is just the latest railroad to boost capacity to transport oil from the Bakken shale, allowing operators in the Williston basin to send an extra 1 million barrels per day of output from North Dakota and Montana. The rail line now hopes to carry 89 million barrels of oil out of Bakken this year, compared to 1.3 million back in 2008.
Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE:EEP) has initiated a public offering of 14 million common units and expects to grant the underwriters a 30-day option to acquire as much as an additional 2.1 million units. The firm expects to use the net proceeds to pay for a portion of its capital expansion projects and/or use for general partnership purposes.
