Energy Business Recap: Petrobras Unaffected By Strike, Shell Faces Different Rules In Iraq

Petrobras (NYSE:PBR) reports that its output of crude oil and fuel supplies have not been impacted by Brazil’s oil workers strike. The union’s “warning” strike entailed declined shift changes at refineries, terminals and inland oilfields while offshore employees would perform routine services but no others.

The government of Iraq says that Royal Dutch Shell (NYSE:RDS.A)(NYSE:RDS.B) denies that it has begun discussions in regards to energy arrangements with semi-autonomous Kurdistan. Rivals Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) and Total S.A. (NYSE:TOT) have been mostly unpunished by Baghdad for their Kurdistan ventures, but the government does not want Shell to do the same.
