Energy Biz Review: BP Considers Rosneft Offer, Conoco and Chevron Go To Poland

Copano Energy (NASDAQ:CPNO) announces a public offering of 6 million common units at $32.13 each. The company will use the proceeds to pay down debt and also for general corporate purposes.

BP (NYSE:BP) affirms that the 90-day period as outlined in the TNK-BP shareholder agreement has concluded, and also says that it will make an announcement whenever new developments might emerge. The company’s board met Friday to consider a reported cash-and-stock offer that is worth more than $25 billion, from Rosneft Oli Co. (RNFTF.PK) for its interest in TNK-BP.

Conoco Phillips (NYSE:COP) and Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX), both of whom have shale gas concessions in Poland, are making moves that seem like a commitment to that country, compared to Exxon Mobil, which has abandoned its plans there. The former is transferring its Eagle Ford well completion engineer to Poland so as to become the lead engineer, while Chevron is renting quite a bit of office space in Warsaw.
