DirecTV Drops Brazil Target and 3 Stocks At 52-Week Highs

DIRECTV (NASDAQ:DTV): Closing price $54.99

DIRECTV has confirmed that it will not go forward in its pursuit of Vivendi’s GVT division in Brazil and has pulled back from the sale process, according to Reuters. Vivendi has suspended the sale after DIRECTV pulled out, said the report, citing people familiar with the matter. Reuters noted that a consortium of private equity groups led by Kohlberg Kravits Roberts & Co. (NYSE:KKR) had offered a lower price than DIRECTV. Shares closed up 4.54 percent on Friday at $54.99 and have been traded in a 52-week range of $42.87 to $55.17.
