Deutsche Telekom (DTEGF.PK) anticipates that the merger of its T-Mobile USA with MetroPCS Communications (NYSE:PCS) should bring “several billions of euros” in synergies, according to the former’s chairman Ulrich Lehner to WirtschaftsWoche, adding that, “The position of Deutsche Telekom in the USA will improve markedly as a result.” The voluntary October merger made the T-Mobile USA and MetroPCS entity number four on the United States wireless market. It’s also said that T-Mobile wants to surpass the market leaders Verizon Wireless (NYSE:VZ), AT&T (NYSE:T) and the third place Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) while the market rapidly changes to super-fast mobile Internet offerings.
