McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:MCD) says that it will add calorie counts to its menus in its United States restaurants, just in time to anticipate a new regulation that requires the disclosure. The new rule applies to all restaurant chains comprised of more than 20 locations.
Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX) has been hit with $20 million lawsuit in California, brought by a snack company that alleges it breached a contract by discontinuing business because of product defects. Mellace Family Brands contends that the problem actually came from a gas leak at a Starbucks facility, rather than in its own operations.
If a strike of auto workers were to occur in Canada, it would affect Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) and General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) quite rapidly, say some industry insiders. Dealers might run out of popular models, as strong 2012 sales in the Unites States already has supply running low. However. executives in the auto industry are said to remain confident that a labor agreement can be reached prior to next week’s deadline.
