Back in the U.S., Ford (NYSE:F) officially opens a laboratory in Silicon Valley which is dedicated to tech, bringing particular concentration on how to better exploit data mining. The company’s executives have long held becoming a technology leader in the automotive industry as a top goal, even back when Ford had to pawn its trademark blue oval logo in order to save itself. As a result of the efforts, company researchers and techies have designed an open platform system that will enable app developers to create features that the company hopes will distinguish its cars further.
