The new chief executive at Best Buy Co. (NYSE:BBY) is Hubert Joly, who resigned from the same post at Carlson Monday. Joly sports a reputation for turnarounds, but his trickiest task might be the management of the Best Buy founder Richard Schulze, who’s tying up several top executives’ time with his attempts to take the company private.

The end of the Japanese government subsidies to its auto purchasers might well cause sales in that country to plummet in the aftermath. 2012 sales from January to June soared 53 percent, but they are likely to fall by 20 percent in the third quarter. The large auto makers, such as Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM) and Honda Motor Company, Ltd. (NYSE:HMC) are depending upon new models to keep their revenues stable, and Nissan plans to offer support to dealers.
Barnes & Noble Inc. (NYSE:BKS) will introduce its Nook tablet in the United Kingdom this fall, which will represent the firm’s debut in international markets. British customers will also have access to Nook digital products and content.
The United States Justice Department has made a request to Anheuser-Busch InBev (NYSE:BUD) for added information on its proposed buyout of Grupo Modelo. However, the brewing giant says that the extra review is routine it still anticipates that the close of the transaction will occur in the first quarter of 2013.
