Cablevision Systems Corporation (NYSE:CVC) hints that it would like to divest the cable system Bresnan Broadband fewer than two years after acquiring it for $1.4 billion. A broader issue could be that if a Bresnan sale works out, it could actually signal the first phase of a greater plan to sell off the firm piece by piece. Observers believe that Time Warner Cable (NYSE:TWC), Charter Communications (NASDAQ:CHTR), and Comcast Corporation (NASDAQ:CMCSA) could be interested.
