United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) is looking at selling a pump and compressor-making division to raise cash for its planned purchase of Goodrich Corp. (NYSE:GR).
The shares closed at $83.78, up $2.04, or 2.5%, on the day. Its market capitalization is $75.91 billion.
General Electric Company (NYSE:GE): Southern Company’s (NYSE:SO) application to build two nuclear reactors in Georgia is expected to be approved by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission today, according to The New York Times. If the project is approved, it would be the first time the U.S. has approved the construction of any nuclear reactors since 1978, the newspaper added.
The shares closed at $19.13, down $0.11, or 0.57%, on the day. Its market capitalization is $201.96 billion.
