Comcast Results BEAT Q2 Concensus and 4 Stocks Hitting 52-Week Highs

Comcast Corp. (NASDAQ:CMCSA) both top- and bottom-line results beat consensus expectations for Q2, which sends the shares to a 52-week high of $34 Wednesday morning. Comcast reflected strength in almost every segment. Trading was around 15.4x forward earnings. Barron’s mentions that Comcast is no longer the bargain it once was, but its long-term earnings growth rate is at 18 percent and is still far beyond the industry average. The stock still offers a 2 percent yield. The shares closed at $34.12, up $0.57 or 1.7% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $19.19 to $34.00.

Gilead Sciences (NASDAQ:GILD): Mylan (NASDAQ:MYL) announced the a new agreement between its subsidiary Mylan Laboratories Limited and Gilead Sciences. Beneath this agreement, Mylan has licensed the rights for the production and marketing of generic versions of Gilead HIV/AIDS therapies that contain Emtricitabine, including both single and fixed-dose combinations. Emtricitabine is marketed by Gilead beneath the brand name Emtriva, and a fixed-dose combination of emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate is marketed beneath the brand name Truvada. Emtricitabine also is a component of the “Quad,” which is an investigational medicine combining four Gilead medicines in a once-daily, single tablet regimen to treat HIV-1 infection. The shares closed at $57.29, up $3.66 or 6.82% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $34.45 to $56.50.

Gap (NYSE:GPS) reported a July SSS that increased 10 percent, and for Q2 SSS sees a 4 percent increase. The shares closed at $33.17, up $3.75 or 12.75% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $15.08 to $30.20.

Gp Strategies Corp. (NYSE:GPX) reports a Q2 EPS of 31c, consensus 26c. The shares closed at $18.55, up $1.73 or 10.29% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $9.16 to $18.99.

Hudson Technologies (NASDAQ:HDSN) reports a Q2 EPS of 20c, 1 estimate 10c. The shares closed at $3.44, down $0.66 or 16.1% on the day. They have traded in a 52-week range of $1.01 to $4.37.
