Clorox and Tyson Foods Prepared to Share Earnings News With Investors

The Clorox Company (NYSE:CLX) will unveil its latest earnings on Friday, February 3, 2012. The average estimate of analysts is for net income of 69 cents per share, a rise of 1.5% from the company’s actual earnings for the same quarter a year ago. During the past three months, the average estimate has moved up from 68 cents. Between one and three months ago, the average estimate moved up. It has been unchanged at 69 cents during the last month. Analysts are projecting profit to rise by 2.2% versus last year to $4.07.

Last quarter, the company beat estimates by 9 cents, coming in at profit of $1.01 a share versus the estimate of net income of 92 cents a share. It marked the fourth straight quarter of beating estimates. Analysts are projecting a rise of 1.7% in revenue from the year-earlier quarter to $1.2 billion.

Tyson Foods, Inc.
(NYSE:TSN) will unveil its latest earnings on Friday, February 3, 2012. The average estimate of analysts is for profit of 33 cents per share, a decline of 56% from the company’s actual earnings for the same quarter a year ago. During the past three months, the average estimate has moved down from 38 cents. Between one and three months ago, the average estimate moved down. It also has dropped from 34 cents during the last month. For the year, analysts are projecting net income of $2.11 per share, a rise of 11.6% from last year.

Last quarter, the company fell short of estimates by 6 cents, coming in at profit of 26 cents per share against a mean estimate of net income of 32 cents. The company topped expectations in the third quarter of the last fiscal year. Analysts are projecting a rise of 8.7% in revenue from the year-earlier quarter to $8.28 billion.
