According to Fox Business Network, the SEC is taking an informal look into the circumstances surrounding the departure of Vikram Pandit from Citigroup (NYSE:C). There appears to be an inconsistency in the facts – while both Citigroup Chairman Michael O’Neill and Pandit himself have claimed that the latter resigned on his own, certain media reports said he was forced to resign.
Third quarter EPS at Kimberly-Clark (NYSE:KMB) of $1.30 misses by $0.02 and revenues of $5.2 billion are short of expectations by $140 million. Overall sales climbed 3%, with the international division contributing a 9% increase, even though North American sales of flat year-on-year. 2012 EPS is forecast in the range $5.15-$5.25.

Nike (NYSE:NKE) sells its Umbro affiliate brand for $225 million to Iconix Brand Group (NASDAQ:ICON). it may be recalled that the company had announced in May its intentions to sell its Umbro and Cole Haan brands to focus on growing its NIKE, Jordan, Converse and Hurley brands.
Dr Pepper Snapple (NYSE:DPS) reports third-quarter EPS of $0.79 which beats expectations by $0.02. Revenues are $1.53 billion and short of expectations by $30 million. Falling revenues at Beverages Concentrates and Packaged Beverages are compensated by higher volumes at Latin America Beverages. Full-year EPS is forecast at $2.90-$2.98.
