Cisco Happy in Legal Win and 2 Other Heavily Traded Stocks

Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO): Current price $21.92

A federal jury in Texas has agreed with Cisco Systems in a patent-infringement case brought by VirnetX Holding Corp (AMEX:VHC). The decision from a jury in the United States Court for Texas’s Eastern District rendered a serious setback to VirnetX, which uses its patent portfolio to obtain revenue from licensing fees or court judgments. The majority of VirnetX’s revenue has come from a $200-million resolution reached with Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) back in 2010, says the research firm ISI Group. VirnetX shares closed down by 28 percent to $25.75 Thursday, obliterating more than $500 million in market value.
