Cisco Forecasts 44% Data Center Growth While Moving the Dow

Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO) predicts that worldwide data center traffic will increase by a factor of four and reach a total of 6.6 zettabytes yearly by 2016, according to its second annual Cisco Global Cloud Index released on Tuesday. Additionally, the firm forecasts that global cloud traffic, which comprises the fastest-growing component of data center traffic, to increase sixfold, which would represent a 44 percent combined annual growth rate from 683 exabytes of annual traffic in 2011 up to 4.3 zettabytes by 2016.
