Cameron Intl Earnings: Double-Digit Revenue Growth Continues

Results: Net income for the oil field machines and equipment rose to $223.6 million (90 cents per share) vs. $164.5 million (67 cents per share) in the same quarter a year earlier. This marks a rise of 35.9% from the year-earlier quarter.
Revenue: Rose 31.6% to $2.22 billion from the year-earlier quarter.
Actual vs. Wall St. Expectations: Cameron International Corporation reported adjusted net income of 91 cents per share. By that measure, the company beat the mean estimate of 88 cents per share. It beat the average revenue estimate of $2.01 billion.
Quoting Management: Cameron Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jack B. Moore said that the year-over-year revenue increases were due to double digit revenue gains in all three of the Company’s segments. “In addition, the Company’s EBITDA margin improved sequentially, with both Drilling & Productions Systems (NYSE:DPS) and Process & Compression Systems (NYSE:PCS) registering gains,” Moore said.
The company has seen double-digit year-over-year percentage revenue growth for the past five quarters. Over that span, the company has averaged growth of 18.5%, with the biggest boost coming in the most recent quarter when revenue rose 31.6% from the year earlier quarter.
The company has now seen its net income rise for three quarters in a row. In the second quarter, net income rose 18% and in the first quarter, the figure rose 22.4%.
The company has beaten estiamtes for two quarters in a row. In the second quarter, it topped expectations with net income of 74 cents versus a mean estimate of net income of 72 cents per share.
Looking Forward: The average estimate for the fourth quarter is steady at $1.08 a share. The average estimate for the fiscal year has remained at $3.24 per share.
