A new report by the National Transportation Safety Board says that the battery that exploded into flames in January on a Boeing jet in Boston experienced dramatic power fluctuations and other failures that its designers had considered virtually impossible, according to The Wall Street Journal. The report did not indicate what the cause of the fire might have been.
