BlackBerry Sees Strong Early Sales and 2 Other Heavily Traded Stocks to Watch

BlackBerry (NASDAQ:BBRY): Closing price $13.22

BlackBerry has its new touchscreen mobile device on store shelves in over 20 countries and is very encouraged by the attention that the smartphone is winning, according to Chief Executive Thorsten Heins on Thursday. The firm’s Z10, representing the first in a line of smartphones driven by the new BlackBerry 10 operating system, is available in the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Indonesia, India, the United Arab Emirates and South Africa, along with other countries in which debuts are coming soon, reported Heins. An intro in the United States is due later in March. Heins said at the Communitech Tech Leadership Conference in the firm’s hometown of Kitchener-Waterloo, “The feedback is very encouraging. What has been a real surprise for us is that BlackBerry 10 as a platform and product is attracting users that are currently on other platforms.”
