Big Oil Names Apply for Barents Sea Blocks: Energy Biz Wrap

Norway’s Petroleum Directorate has received applications from 36 companies in that country’s 22nd licensing round, with the primary interest being indicated in the Barents Sea, which applications totaled 72 blocks and parts thereof, with 14 for the Norwegian Sea. Big names among the companies applying included BP (NYSE:BP), ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP), Statoil (NYSE:STO), Total (NYSE:TOT), ENI, and Repsol (REPYF.PK).
