AT&T’s Lumia Prices, Vringo Beats Google In Court: Tech Biz Wrap

Shares of domestic solar players First Solar (NASDAQ:FSLR) and SunPower Corporation (NASDAQ:SPWR) are both moving up on Tuesday on growing expectations among observers that President Obama will be re-elected. His administration supports the Energy Department’s solar funding in the face of unyielding opposition in Congress.

AT&T (NYSE:T) will sell Nokia Corporation’s (NYSE:NOK) Lumia 920 and 820 for $100 and $50 respectively with contracts. Similar to that of the Lumia 900, the 920′s price undersells the iPhone along with many pricey Android models, but is only equal to AT&T’s pricing for HTC’s Windows Phone 8X.

Vringo (AMEX:VRNG) wins its patent suit against Google and has been awarded $30 million in damages plus a royalty (perhaps 3.5 percent) on Google search ad revenue through 2016, at which time Vringo’s patent expires. Google is almost certain to appeal. Vringo shares were halted for most of the day, but resumed trading in late afternoon.
