Outgoing Hulu (NASDAQ:CMCSA) chief executive Jason Kilar has affirmed that The  Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) and News Corp. (NASDAQ:NWSA) are “currently finalizing their forward-looking plans with Hulu” and that a permanent decision about his replacement will be made subsequent to those discussions. The talks started after Disney expressed an interest to go with an advertising-focused business model, while News Corp wanted to depend upon subscriptions. Comcast also owns one-third of Hulu, but is disallowed from an operational role or from voting its stake.

These institutional firms indicated owning shares of Disney in the fourth quarter of 2012, and said that they own an aggregate amount of 1.188 billion shares on December 31st, with the shares closing at $49.79 on that date.

Blackrock Institutional Trust Company NA held 46,862,447 shares worth $2,333,281,279. This brought the portfolio total to 0.54 percent.

State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company held 42,206,018 shares worth $2,101,437,675. This brought the portfolio total to 4.25 percent.

T. Price Rowe Associates Inc. /MD/ held 33,008,599 shares worth $1,643,498,174. This brought the portfolio total to 0.48 percent.

Wellington Management Co. LLP held 30,368,292 shares worth $1,512,037,286. This brought the portfolio total to 0.1 percent.
