Are the Apple Bulls Back?

findmyiphoneCHEAT SHEET Analysis: Earnings Increasing Quarter-Over-Quarter

One of the core components of our CHEAT SHEET investing framework talks about if earnings are going up or down through the months.

Apple has now missed earnings expectations for two quarters running. However, Rolfe told Barron’s that there was little chance of Apple disappointing when it reports earnings next month because the consensus estimate is as close to Apple’s guidance as Street estimates have ever been. The average analyst prediction for the current quarter’s revenue is $54.7 billion, while Apple projected $52 billion on October 25.

In addition, sales numbers have been “stellar,” Barron’s said. “Apple sold five million iPhone 5s in the first weekend the device went on sale, beating previous iPhone records,” it said. “And it sold two million of the things in China the first weekend they arrived there, again beating records. That is without even having a deal with the largest carrier in the world, China Mobile (NYSE:CHL).”
