Since most Mac computers include a high-definition camera, the speculation is that the Logitech Broadcaster will have both higher quality video and audio, as well as greater flexibility for broadcasting or recording to the cloud. That Wi-Fi webcam was first spotted on the U.S. Federal Communications Commission website in July.
Apple announced the OS X Mountain Lion in June at it Worldwide Developers Conference, with the company’s Mac software head Craig Federighi saying the operating system was “designed with innovations from iPad.” Among the 200 new features in the software were apps optimized for iCloud, more sharing options, streamlined web browsing, and new dictation capabilities.
