Apple to Teach Siri New Languages and 3 Hot Stocks Seeing Action Today

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is possibly preparing to provide new languages for Siri, according to CNet. The site has stated that a job listing has begun to be advertised for individuals whose native language is Arabic, Chinese, Danish, Finnish, Dutch, Korean, French, Swedish, or Norwegian, and those chosen will be responsible for delivering Siri “in different parts of the world”.

Facebook, Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) board member Marc Andreessen sold approximately $54 million worth of shares in the company’s stock on Monday as a means to cover the taxes he owes on his holdings. Andreessen’s sales is one of the most recent transactions by Facebook insiders since the company’s trading restrictions expired after its May initial public offering. Additionally, on Monday, Donald Graham, chairman and CEO of the Washington Post Co and a director at Facebook, sold approximately $6.7 million worth of Facebook shares, according to a regulatory filing on Tuesday. Both Andreessen and Graham have begun to sell shares as a way to cover tax obligations that were incurred from the recent vesting or settlement of restricted stock units in the company. Earlier in the year, Facebook stated in a separate filing that neither intends to sell shares for any other reason.

AT&T, Inc. (NYSE:T): Yesterday, FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski showed support for Dish Network’s (NASDAQ:DISH) intentions to launch a wireless service competing with both AT&T (NYSE:T) and Verizon Wireless (VZ,VOD), according to a report by the Washington Post yesterday. It is required that the plan be approved by the other four FCC commissioners, the newspaper added.

Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK): Jolla, a Nokia spin-off, has created the MeeGo-based Sailfish OS, which some are describing as “the next big smartphone platform,” GigaOM reports.
